Prior to co-founding the Rhone Group, Langman was a senior managing director from 1993 at Lazard Freres & Co. LLC. As president and chief executive officer for UBP's newly formed U.S subsidiary, he oversaw the mergers and acquisitions advisory business, and also established a merchant banking operation, and developed the first private banking and asset management services for the U.S. Prior to joining Lazard's New York office in 1990, Langman spent three years with Lazard Freres & Co. in London.〔http://graphics8.nytimes.com/packages/pdf/opinion/Cohan_LastTycoons_Chapt14.pdf〕
Prior to that he was with Goldman Sachs in New York and London as a senior partner where he also worked with current partner Robert Agostinelli.
